Join the Elgin History Museum for a Family Fun Day at South Elgin’s Fox River Trolley Museum and Picnic at Jon J. Duerr Forest Preserve
Enjoy a nostalgic trip back to an era when the electric trolley car was a vital part of American life. Experience the sights and sounds of this unique part of American history aboard a genuine old-time trolley car which takes you on a trip along the banks of the scenic Fox River. The trolley will take you to Jon J. Duerr Forest Preserve for an old-time picnic, complete with food, drinks and games for the kids.(Picnic Lunch Served at 1:30PM) Located at a crook in the Fox River, the preserve offers a scenic setting, complete with wildlife, trails, picnic shelters rest rooms – and a little known 8-ft waterfall. It also features the historical burial site of unknown soldiers in General Scott’s Army.
Cost: $10.00 per person which covers the cost of the trolley and lunch
