7pm – 8:30pm Elgin Genealogical Society – Grandma Nellie’s Scrapbook at Gail Borden Library

January 17 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Elgin Genealogical SocietyThis is the monthly meeting of the Elgin Genealogical Society where presenter Tina Beaird will be presenting “Grandma Nellie’s Scrapbook: Identifying & Interpreting History.” Many people become heirs to a box of unidentified family photos and have no clue what to do with them. Learn to identify these ‘lost’ family members using genealogy sources in conjunction with observational techniques.

Tina Beaird, owner of Tamarack Genealogy, is a genealogy & local history librarian at a Chicagoland public library. She holds a Masters of Library and Information Science degree with a specialization in Archives/Preservation. Tina has won multiple research and digitization grants over the last decade to preserve and digitize historic documents and photographs. She lectures nationally on topics including genealogical methodology, military research, and photo and archival preservation.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is at the main branch of the Gail Borden Public Library, not at the Museum.
