100 Years and Growing is a 127 page book highlighting the first 100 year history of the Elgin Garden Club and was published to celebrate their Golden Jubilee year. The book was compiled and written by EGC club member Cherie Murphy in partnership with the Elgin History Museum.

In May of 1916 a group of Elgin women met at the home of Mrs. George Hunter to organize the Elgin Garden Club. The club began as a mission ” to cultivate the spirit of gardening in its fullest sense, together with an appreciation of civic beauty and betterment in and about Elgin”. The book is organized by decade and includes many historical and current pictures along with a membership list and past president list as well.
