From east or west, take I-90 to Elgin and exit at Route 25. Head south for about a mile, then turn right on Park St. Please be aware that the museum shares a parking lot with Elgin Academy, a private school on site. During the school year the parking lot can be an active place with many parents picking up students starting around the 2pm hour. There is designated parking on the far west side of the lot specifically for museum visitors. Please plan your visit accordingly.

Your Safety is Important

The Museum has put the following precautions in place so visitors, staff, and volunteers can enjoy a safe experience.

• Masks are welcome, but not required.
• Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the Museum.
• The gift shop / admission area has been updated with a plastic shield to conduct transactions.
• Museum staff and volunteers have been trained in new strict sanitizing procedures.
• Social distancing is appreciated, and if there are and abundance of people in the Museum, the docents will be there to help guide the flow of people.

Hours of Operation

Normal operating hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 11:00am – 4:00pm

Admission

Adult admission is $5.00, children 17 and under and Museum members are FREE.
Members of the Time Travelers network, Elgin Township Senior Access Pass holders and Teachers with ID are also FREE.

Accessibility

All of the Museum’s exhibits are accessible, and all public floors of the Museum can be reached by elevator. Enter on the north side (back side) of the building and ring the doorbell. Staff will assist.
